Unpopular opinion about Arlington

Hey everyone, Median household income is $125,909, which feels pretty solid for the area. Rent is about $2,046/month for a decent place. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. Has anyone dealt with this? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

The food scene here is decent. Tons of great Thai places. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Miami about 10 years ago. The main reasons were work and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are affordable, gas is underrated.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 8 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is improving.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Hope this helps!.

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.
