Career opportunities in Arlington, TX

First post here. I'm a remote worker and Median household income is $73,519, which feels about average for the area. It's a a mid-size city city with about 395K people. Crime rate is something to consider — Arlington sits at 510.8 per 100K. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Should I be concerned? Appreciate any input. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 13 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 4 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a real estate agent, 29, moved here 6 years ago from Nashville. I've lived in Greenfield and Meadowbrook, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not very walkable outside downtown
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The safety situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Greenfield: Great for families. average vibes, walkable.
- Meadowbrook: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Nashville, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $80K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Used to live on the Uptown side, now on the Highland side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.
