Is Arlington a good place to live?

Hello, I grew up here but left for a while. The median home value here is around $276,400, which seems about average. Rent is about $1,389/month for a decent place. Median household income is $73,519, which feels about average for the area. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. Any advice would be great. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Cedar Grove. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in government. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.
