Arlington job market vs Las Vegas

So, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and The median home value here is around $864,800, which is pretty steep. Homes are going for about $864,800 on average. Median household income is $140,160, which feels pretty solid for the area. Rent is about $2,275/month for a decent place. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Thoughts? The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely decent and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Westside) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I work in government here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is hit or miss. No regrets on my end..
