Born and raised here. Crime rate is something to consider — Arlington sits at 182.7 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $2,275 for rent here. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Am I wrong here? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I've lived in Pine Hills for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- The cultural scene scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Definitely worth checking out..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is food scene. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

Used to live on the Fairview side, now on the Cedar Grove side. Completely different vibe. it's been a really good experience overall.

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The pet-friendliness is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

I work in tech here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is underrated. No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in North. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in legal. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
