Curious what people think. Military spouse here. You can expect to pay around $1,890 for rent here. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Thanks!

Moved here from Baltimore about 10 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to pet-friendliness but Definitely worth checking out..

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great craft beer places. I love the pace of life here.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value job market, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely improving and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Uptown) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Moved here from Pittsburgh about 14 years ago. I have mixed feelings honestly. Still getting used to school system but No regrets on my end..

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The walkability is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..
