Median household income is $103,258, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $758,100, which is pretty steep. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. Am I wrong here? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

I work in tech here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is better than expected. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I'm a sales manager and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. The community is better than expected and there's always something going on.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Westside area are challenging. Kids love it here.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is pretty good in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Minneapolis about 11 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is tough.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The job market is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

I've lived in Old Town for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- The traffic scene is tough
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Property taxes are high
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Happy to answer more specific questions..

The food scene here is decent. Tons of great sushi places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.
