Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Atlanta about 11 years ago. The main reasons were weather and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is excellent.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
