Best neighborhoods in Asbury Park

Hi all, I'm retired and Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Let me know your thoughts. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The housing market is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Pine Hills. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in tech. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like seafood.

No regrets on my end..

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.
