Considering Asbury Park vs Miami -help me decide

Alright, I'm single, late 40s, and You can expect to pay around $1,679 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Asbury Park sits at 1,159.6 per 100K. Household incomes average around $71,080 in Asbury Park. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Would love some local perspective. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 10 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces

Cons that are real:
- Bugs and humidity in summer
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are affordable, gas is excellent.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Hope this helps!.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Feel free to reach out with questions..
