How is Asbury Park for outdoor activities?

Anyone else feel this way? Been living here since 2024. With a population of 15,239, Asbury Park is a small town. You can expect to pay around $1,679 for rent here. Homes are going for about $508,800 on average. Household incomes average around $71,080 in Asbury Park. The unemployment rate is 4.3%, which is about average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. Has anyone dealt with this? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Springfield. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much stable but now it's challenging.
