OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Cedar Grove. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Asian.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in West for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
- The cost of living scene is tough

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Charlotte about 9 years ago. The main reasons were work and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are competitive, gas is tough.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Maple Ridge. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in education. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
