Living in Ashburn -the reality

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I work in insurance and Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. You can expect to pay around $2,397 for rent here. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 7 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..
