Best companies to work for in Asheboro?

OK so I'm a teacher here and Household incomes average around $48,628 in Asheboro. Median household income is $48,628, which feels on the lower side for the area. Rent is about $855/month for a decent place. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Any help is appreciated. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Atlanta about 6 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are stable, gas is underrated.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Happy to answer more specific questions..
