Hey folks, I'm a remote worker and Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. Homes are going for about $411,000 on average. Household incomes average around $67,221 in Asheville. Poverty rate is 7.3%, which is pretty low. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Am I overthinking this? The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Used to live on the Pine Hills side, now on the Meadowbrook side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Active local events and festivals
- Affordable housing options
- The public transit scene is tough
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Hope this helps!.
