What I love about living in Asheville

I've been living in Asheville, NC for 8 years now and honestly, there's a lot to love. There are tons of parks and outdoor spaces. The community here is solid and supportive. If you're thinking about moving here, feel free to ask me anything.

Rent tip: look for places in winter. Prices drop and there's more availability.

The job market has been improving lately. Several tech companies moved in recently.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Westside and Pine Grove are perfectly safe.

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.

Great post! One thing I'd mention is the west side tends to be more affordable. Makes a big difference.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Cedar Hills. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

I've lived in Highland Park for 13 years and it's still one of the best decisions I made.

Check out the Eastside area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

If you can afford it, University District is the best place to live. Period.

Don't sleep on Southside. It's up and coming and still affordable.

I'd add that the school system has been improving steadily. Otherwise spot on!

Weather is the biggest factor for us. Four seasons are nice, not too extreme either way.
