Rent in Ashland getting crazy

Hello, I'm retired and Homes are going for about $104,000 on average. You can expect to pay around $575 for rent here. Household incomes average around $62,417 in Ashland. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Friendly people
- Nice parks and trails
- Lots of new development
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Boring for young people
- Poor road conditions
Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to.

I've lived in Eastside for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Active local events and festivals
- The safety scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
