Cost of living reality check -Ashland

OK so I'm a teacher here and Median household income is $57,310, which feels about average for the area. Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Should I be concerned?

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 12 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Bought a house here in 2023 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone about the same since then.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is pretty good in most areas.
