Remote worker thinking about Ashland

Longtime lurker here, I'm single, late 40s, and Poverty rate is 9.0%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $840/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Ashland sits at 161.7 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $840 for rent here. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. What are your go-to spots? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to.
