Rent vs buy in Ashland -what makes sense?

Random thought, My partner and I are Median household income is $57,310, which feels about average for the area. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from New York about 14 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is improving.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
