Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Lakewood. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in government. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Indian.
No regrets on my end..

Used to live on the Midtown side, now on the Uptown side. Completely different vibe. it's been a really good experience overall.

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much growing but now it's decent.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The traffic is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor recreation is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..
