Thinking about relocating to Ashley from Atlanta

First post here. My partner and I are The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $968 for rent here. With a population of 1,455, Ashley is a small town. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Am I overthinking this? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Houston about 2 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are established, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Good luck with whatever you decide..
