Why I chose Ashville over bigger cities

We're a young couple and What are your go-to spots? Thanks!

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 14 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from San Diego about 10 years ago. The main reasons were school and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are competitive, gas is underrated.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Good luck with whatever you decide..
