What Asotin does better than anywhere else

Rent is about $1,011/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $275,400, which seems about average. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Should I be concerned?

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.

Bought a house here in 2019 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Portland it's excellent.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is healthcare. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The food scene is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Meadowbrook for 5 years. Moved from Portland for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
legal is strong here. government is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
the quality of life is solid. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Meadowbrook schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Road conditions need improvement. Far from beaches/mountains. And nightlife can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 8/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
