Hey folks, I'm single, late 50s, and You can expect to pay around $1,925 for rent here. Poverty rate is 5.7%, which is pretty low. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say the quality of life is solid. The traffic is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Came here for school and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The walkability is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'm a sales manager and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community is decent and there's always something going on.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 11 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Happy to answer more specific questions..
