Best apartments in Atchison under ?

Anyone else feel this way? I've been here for 3 years and Household incomes average around $54,695 in Atchison. Rent is about $736/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Atchison sits at 390.1 per 100K. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Pros:
- Good schools
- Close to nature
- Diverse community
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Limited dining options
- Mosquitoes and humidity
Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Pine Hills for 7 years. Moved from San Diego for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. construction is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is tough - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Pine Hills schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited entertainment options. Bugs and humidity in summer. And community vibe can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 8/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.
