Is Atchison worth it salary-wise?

Random thought, I work in education and Median household income is $54,695, which feels on the lower side for the area. You can expect to pay around $736 for rent here. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 3 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..
