Thinking about relocating to Atkins from Denver

Hi all, Just moved here 14 months ago and The median home value here is around $108,300, which is actually reasonable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Would love some local perspective.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The public transit scene is average

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely average and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Portland, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I work in real estate here and it exceeded my expectations. The job market for my field is improving. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 9 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for work and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The traffic is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- The public transit scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. No regrets on my end..
