OK so Median household income is $62,675, which feels about average for the area. You can expect to pay around $836 for rent here. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Any advice would be great.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Riverside. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in tech. If you're in retail you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Southern.
Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 7 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
