Anyone else love living in Atlantic City?

Hello, Just moved here 10 months ago and Median household income is $36,220, which feels on the lower side for the area. Homes are going for about $189,600 on average. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Worth the trade-offs?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Chicago about 8 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good internet infrastructure
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Nightlife is limited

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are growing, gas is tough.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. housing market used to be much manageable but now it's surprisingly good.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Fairview. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in engineering. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Italian.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Austin about 3 years ago. The main reasons were family and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are affordable, gas is challenging.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is decent in most areas.
