Considering Atwater vs San Francisco -help me decide

First post here. I've been here for 4 years and Household incomes average around $63,945 in Atwater. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Let me know your thoughts. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is challenging in most areas.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Oak Park for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Affordable housing options
- The healthcare scene is decent

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 5 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
