Alright, Poverty rate is 9.2%, which is pretty low. It's a a smaller city city with about 78,738 people. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Anyone in a similar situation?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 2 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Active local events and festivals
- Close to major attractions
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are established, gas is improving.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to Miami it's solid.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

I'm a electrician and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.

I've lived in Westside for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Affordable housing options
- The healthcare scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. Feel free to reach out with questions..

We moved here with our family and I genuinely enjoy living here. Schools in The Heights area are solid. Kids love it here.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a data analyst, 40, moved here 11 years ago from Nashville. I've lived in South and Fairview, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Strong sense of community
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Property taxes are high
2. Limited shopping options
3. The healthcare situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- South: Great for singles. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Fairview: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Nashville, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $90K-$140K here.
**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 1 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into running, this place is decent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Sunset for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The traffic scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
