Is Auburn worth moving to in 2026?

So, Median household income is $56,123, which feels about average for the area. Household incomes average around $56,123 in Auburn. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. TIA! Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The public transit is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely tough and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Old Town) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
