Working remotely from Auburn — my experience

I've been working remotely from Auburn for 7 years now. Here's my take:

The pace of life here is perfect for remote work. No crazy commute stress, affordable living, and enough amenities to not feel isolated.

Cost of living: pretty reasonable
Internet: Fiber available in most areas — no complaints
Coworking spaces: Growing number of options

If you're looking for a place to WFH, Auburn is worth considering.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Northside. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

Respectfully disagree about the cost of living assessment. In my experience, it really depends on your lifestyle.

I work in education and finding a job wasn't hard. Took about 5 months.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

As someone who moved here from Boston, I can confirm most of this. The job opportunities surprised me the most.

Coming from San Francisco, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are slightly more expensive but housing makes up for it.

The job market has been improving lately. Several education companies moved in recently.
