Should I move to Auburn or stay in Salt Lake City?

You can expect to pay around $1,432 for rent here. It's a a small town city with about 13,758 people. The median home value here is around $642,400, which is pretty steep. The unemployment rate is 1.7%, which is pretty low. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. TIA! The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much stable but now it's underrated.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely decent and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (West) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Limited shopping options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Bought a house here in 2020 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone up significantly since then.
