Curious what people think. The unemployment rate is 2.9%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $867/month for a decent place. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from LA about 14 years ago. The main reasons were school and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good internet infrastructure
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Rising rent and home prices
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are wild, gas is excellent.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Portland about 7 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Rising rent and home prices
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are wild, gas is better than expected.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Came here for school and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The job market is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The nightlife is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
