Day-to-day life in Auburn, WA

Anyone else feel this way? Military spouse here. Rent is about $1,713/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Auburn sits at 393.3 per 100K. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What would you do? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Riverside. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Definitely worth checking out..
