Moving to Auburn with kids -good idea?

Hey folks, The median home value here is around $510,400, which is pretty steep. Homes are going for about $510,400 on average. Poverty rate is 5.7%, which is pretty low. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. Let me know your thoughts. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- The traffic scene is improving

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The healthcare is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..
