Unpopular opinion about Augusta

Longtime lurker here, Born and raised here. Household incomes average around $60,581 in Augusta. Poverty rate is 7.5%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $60,581, which feels about average for the area. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What do you all think? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Chicago it's hit or miss.

Used to live on the Maple Ridge side, now on the Eastside side. Completely different vibe. it's been a really good experience overall.

I've lived in West for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- The outdoor recreation scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
