Unpopular opinion about Augusta

Anyone else feel this way? I'm a college student here and With a population of 18,999, Augusta is a small town. You can expect to pay around $887 for rent here. Poverty rate is 14.8%, which is around average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What are your go-to spots? Looking forward to hearing from you all. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

I've lived in Downtown for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- The dating scene scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Good luck with whatever you decide..
