What I wish I knew before living in Augusta
First post here. Poverty rate is 14.8%, which is around average. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Oak Park area are tough. Kids love it here.

Moved here from LA about 12 years ago. I have mixed feelings honestly. Still getting used to nightlife but Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely pretty good and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Westside) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
