Hey folks, My partner and I are Homes are going for about $162,900 on average. The median home value here is around $162,900, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 202K, Augusta-Richmond County is a mid-size city. The unemployment rate is 4.5%, which is about average. Median household income is $53,134, which feels on the lower side for the area. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Am I wrong here? Thanks in advance! People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much pricey but now it's underrated.
