Housing market in Augusta-Richmond County right now
Longtime lurker here, I'm a college student here and Median household income is $53,134, which feels on the lower side for the area. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Anyone in a similar situation?

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in Lakewood area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Seattle it's underrated.

I've been here 15 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is decent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Meadowbrook. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
