How much do you pay for rent in Aurora?

Crime rate is something to consider — Aurora sits at 735.4 per 100K. It's a a mid-size city city with about 390K people. Average temperature is around 50°F, so expect cold winters. With a population of 390K, Aurora is a mid-size city. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Close to nature
- Lots of new development

Cons:
- Lack of diversity
- Boring for young people
- Poor road conditions
There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 10 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want dating scene, then yeah this place is great. But if safety matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Came here for school and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The weather is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
