Living in Aurora — the reality

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I relocated for work and Rent is about $1,759/month for a decent place. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Worth the trade-offs?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from LA about 2 years ago. The main reasons were family and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are developing, gas is excellent.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Feel free to reach out with questions..

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great sushi places. I love the pace of life here.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Hope this helps!.
