Most overrated things about Aurora

Hey folks, I'm a 25-year-old marketing manager and Median household income is $90,109, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a a mid-size city city with about 180K people. Rent is about $1,535/month for a decent place. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

I've lived in Highland for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Lots of new development happening
- The cultural scene scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The public transit is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Came here for weather and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The food scene is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
