I grew up here but left for a while. With a population of 180K, Aurora is a mid-size city. The median home value here is around $260,400, which seems about average. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Is this normal for Aurora?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in The Heights. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in retail. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Italian.
