How is Austin for outdoor activities?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Crime rate is something to consider -Austin sits at 214.1 per 100K. The median home value here is around $155,100, which is actually reasonable. Household incomes average around $66,488 in Austin. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Worth the trade-offs? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I've lived in Oak Park for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities
- The healthcare scene is improving

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Definitely worth checking out..
