What's it really like living in Austin?

Homes are going for about $155,100 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Austin sits at 214.1 per 100K. Median household income is $66,488, which feels about average for the area. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Low crime in most areas
- Good schools
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Limited nightlife
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Boring for young people
Let me know your thoughts. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Came here for quality of life and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The community vibe is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
