Worst things about Autaugaville nobody talks about

First post here. I'm single, late 30s, and The median home value here is around $131,700, which is actually reasonable. The unemployment rate is 3.0%, which is pretty low. With a population of 1,119, Autaugaville is a small town. Crime rate is something to consider -Autaugaville sits at 228.0 per 100K. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Would love some local perspective. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Four distinct seasons
- The community vibe scene is average

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Good luck with whatever you decide..
